4th of July at The Cloister
4th of July at The Lodge

Thoughtfully planned and professionally supervised age-appropriate children’s programming is the highlight of a family visit to Sea Island. During the summer, spring break and holidays, the Junior Staff devote full attention to imaginative, interactive activities while parents enjoy the resort’s other amenities. This special team of college students is carefully selected for their leadership skills and enthusiasm to serve as role models for our young guests. Most of these popular programs require reservations in advance.

  • Camp Cloister is daily except Sunday and select holidays.  Directed activities are offered year-round for children 3-12. Each day explores a different theme, from pirates to fish, frogs and birds, through games, crafts and activities. Fee includes lunch.
  • Club Sea Island is designed exclusively for pre-teens, ages 9-12, looking for more exciting adventures during spring break and summertime visits. From ocean kayaking to field trips around the area, Club Sea Island is about discovery and creating new friendships.
  • Cookie Cutters create, bake and decorate cookies on Saturdays.
  • Children's Dinner kid-friendly menus and activities change nightly.  While parents experience Sea Island’s fine dining, children ages 3-11 can enjoy dinner with one another.  Offered Friday and Saturday evenings throughout the year with additional weeknights seasonally.
  • Air rifle bull’s-eye hour is a blast every afternoon (except Sunday) at the Shooting School.
  • Staff naturalists create educational eco-adventures for children from springtime raptor and reptile encounters to summertime overnight campouts.
  • The Equestrian Center schedules tiny tyke tours and horsemanship clinics while welcoming families to visit the stables and share treats with the horses.
  • Junior golf and tennis clinics teach club sport skills and good sportsmanship.
  • Fishing and crabbing off The Cloister dock is a Sea Island tradition. Fishing trips to introduce kids to sport fishing can be arranged through the Yacht Club as well.
  • Scavenger hunts, ping pong tournaments, tie-dye on the beach and sandcastle competitions round out the all-American fun.
  • Bingo on Tuesday and Thursday nights.
  • Bicycles are available for rent; helmets are included.
